New Pioneers Project Becomes a Rochdale Station Adopter
We are delighted to announce that New Pioneers Project has become a Station Adopter for Rochdale railway station.
Station adopters play an important role in caring for railway stations and helping them become more welcoming, attractive and connected to their local communities.
For New Pioneers Project, this is an exciting opportunity to bring together our participants, volunteers and local partners. Through creative activities, gardening and community projects, we hope to transform parts of the station into spaces that passengers and residents can enjoy.
Our involvement will include caring for the community garden outside the station, supporting environmental improvements and creating opportunities for local people to learn new skills, volunteer and take pride in their local area.
Becoming a station adopter also supports our wider work to reduce isolation and help people build confidence using public transport. Activities and trips connected to the railway can introduce participants to new places, experiences and opportunities.
We look forward to working closely with the Calder Valley Line Community Rail Partnership, the railway team and the wider community to make a positive difference at Rochdale station.
This is the beginning of an exciting new chapter for New Pioneers Project, and we cannot wait to see how the space develops with the support of our volunteers and community.
Together, we can help make Rochdale station an even more welcoming and vibrant gateway to the town.
