New Pioneers Project participants enjoyed a wonderful Geometric Art Workshop at Spotland Community Association – Rochdale, led by artist Saba Riffat.
During the session, participants explored geometric art and learned how simple shapes, colours and repeating patterns can be combined to create beautiful designs inspired by Islamic art.
Using coloured and carefully cut paper, everyone created their own individual piece. These designs were then brought together to form one impressive collaborative artwork, celebrating creativity, culture and community.
The workshop offered more than an opportunity to develop artistic skills. It encouraged participants to share ideas, try something new and contribute to a larger piece of art created through teamwork.
The finished artwork was prepared for the Merhaba Festival, held at Rochdale Town Hall Square and organised by Culture Co-op. It was wonderful for our participants to know that their creativity would become part of a wider community celebration.
A big thank you to Saba Riffat for leading such an inspiring workshop, to Culture Co-op and to everyone who took part and helped create something so special.
